Preschool processing of feelings with help from a Cheetah

Grayson taught me how to sound and feel like a Cheetah today because that was HIS way to get out bad feelings. He needed to FIND his own way. And then he loved teaching me. And he wouldn’t stop until I got the sound exactly right. This all came about from him feeling jealous that I was giving attention to CLaire, dividing myself as always. When I asked him if he was jealous and where he felt it inside, he said he was jealous but he was more afraid, feeling it in his heart. We explored the fear. Winds up when he is jealous he is afraid of not getting enough attention from me. We tried breathing out the bad feelings, he reported they were still stuck. Blowing them out, talking about them, tapping on his heart, jumping up and down. Still stuck. I told him it was his choice to let them go and he could find a way if he wanted. Immediately he began making these sounds I didn’t recognize. Afterwards he informed me the feelings weren’t stuck anymore because his Cheetah sounds got rid of them. WOW! What a beautiful process to witness. I told him how proud I was that he found his own way to get stuck bad feelings out of his heart. He beamed. So did I!!!
