Old Fashioned Magic and a Sense of Wonder Serve as Medicine for Kids to Reduce Stress, Bullying, Violence and Negativity

There are all kinds of medicines humans take for ailments. Magic, wonder and fun are also medicines. Children need them because they touch the mind and heart with upliftment in ways that keep the imagination creative and bring a special feeling that can reduce unhealthy tendencies in dealing with life stress such as bullying, violence and negativity.

All humans have stress. We cannot escape it. Humans who have a sense of wonder and feel something magical about life are happier. Giving these qualities to children means they will feel enriched and enlivened. Those are qualities that fuel healthy attitudes, not attitudes that harbor bullying, violence and negativity.

When I am the Xmas Fairy in the Ashland parade, all lit up like a Xmas tree, I wave my singing wand over heads of children and adults alike to give wishes. Their precious closed eyes and smiling hearts are gladdened for the opportunity to be in the moment of magic and wonder. I am grateful to be a part of it. Giving children these kinds of experiences is priceless and a great investment in positive influences in their lives.
