It Takes a Village

They say it takes a village to raise a child. I love living in Ashland, Oregon, because it is a ‘village’ that encourages and sponsors wonderful, or rather, FUNderful creativity with parades, special events like the Monster Dash one mile run benefit for education and a costume contest where thousands of folks all ages, from tots to elders, join in. There is a very happy feeling that is generated for everyone when a gathering like this occurs. Costumes bring smiles and all the efforts prove to children that adults can ‘play,’ too. I am grateful for all the opportunities to do dress-ups, be a healthy, happy village and share in a fun atmosphere so frequently. Most of all, I love that children get to have fun with the adults!
