9 Year Old Discovers The Power Of Not Being Controlled By Anger

9 yr. old client who was exposed to domestic violence held anger inside that was controlling him. I asked him to draw/color what it looked like. He couldn’t ‘think’ it through. I encouraged him to let his body FEEL it coming out of his hands with the colors. THAT is when he could see/feel what anger looked like trapped inside him. Blue body outline was what he felt after we drummed and shook and released anger out of the body without harming self or others. Third picture – his shield that helps him see himself strong, generating courage and empowerment inside instead of being defeated and controlled by anger.
