Grandma Boom aka Queen of Hearts, gave a NO littering lessons to preschoolers, including roleplaying being the earth with trash thrown on her and having no hands to clean it up. Children sang, drummed, did artwork and used grabbers provided by the Queen of Hearts to pick up trash and put into a trash can. Using a story from one of Janai Mestrovich’s books, Superkid Saves the Day, children learned about trees, animals and land not having hands to pick up trash thrown on them. Whole body learning, fun experiences and compassionate hearts joined together with excitement to practice picking up trash in safe ways and not picking up broken glass or objects that are sharp.
