“Good job!” I said as Claire was feeling like a big girl drinking out of a water fountain, being reminded to keep mouth away from fountain, hands out of it and to give others a turn. Claire loves accomplishing new tasks as any toddler does. There’s so much to learn while feeling excited to have a new activity. I love being a witness and guide, being present with her and keeping an eye on all the angles to be addressed, plus sharing the space with a feeling of gladness. “Good job” are two simple words that I wish all toddlers would hear while they fumble at learning. Confidence building is such a grand experience to be a part of.
