Breaking rules is sometimes more important than following them. Take for instance playing BREAK THE ICE with a 4 yr. old granddaughter who starts out taking one or two turns chipping away at one cube, letting me have one turn, maybe two on occasion. While it is mildly fun, it’s nothing compared to doing it with her own wildly creative approach.

The real fun begins when she rip roars all over the board as the cubes crash down everywhere. Her squeals of hilarious laughter are contagious and we roar in hilarity together.

Priorities. Follow rules when having to be safe. Play for the sake of having fun together and let the new lack of rules bring the best time together whenever possible! Win-Win! That’s a Grandma Boom ruleless rule! hahaha
