Creative Expression Build Confidence with Children

My grandchildren were soooo excited to make their parents happy for Valentine’s Day. I cut out a huge red heart and provided lots of heart stickers and colors. Supplying items for artwork such as Valentine’s Day is so important for children. They are encouraged to express creativity which empowers them. Simple acts such as this can make a great difference in how children see and experience themselves.

Observe children when they are being creative. They focus. They are entertained by entertaining themselves. They feel confident. They create something that can be seen/heard/felt/touched by themselves and others that came from inside them. This helps children to know more about who they are, what they are feeling, and how they are connecting in the world around them.
